Hello.
Ubuntu Dapper, Cedega 5.1.3, AMD3500+, 2Gb RAM and a 7900 GT and it works like a charm.
Except the same bug as someone encounters : When I move my mouse, my FPS drop like 5 FPS (otherwise I got 100+FPS) My mouse is a Razor Copperhead (laser captor, usb mouse). I've tried with a Logitech MX300 (optical mouse, USB/PS2) and the drop is less (the less I get is 35FPS). So anyone got an idea to solve this framerate issue due to a mouse problem ? Is there a mousefix ? Or is it due to an hardware pilot (for my USB plug for example ?)
Thanks in advance

Mouse affecting FPS is rather odd. You could try turning off dx_grab in the Cedega config, that will give control of the mouse back to X.
Ok I'll try this asap.
I don't habve an Logitech Mouse (it's a Razer one, the Copperhead model (this one)
Under Gnome I have absolutely no problems with it, only under Eve. I'll post my comments this afternoon after my test. Hope it will be successful (I have to use a cheap usb optical mouse in order to get decent FPS to play)

Originally by: Sevarus James new SIS patch breaks eve /cedega/ and wine. No keyboard input is being recognized to get past the login screen. Anyone else having problems with this? I also posted this info to the game dev forum.
Same here, but manged to get past. just type my password in a tempo txt file, then paste it in the right field :) But even with my prefs.ini paste from my win partition, just got a small screen not centered from the game, and impossible to hit esc to switch to another resolution. Just got to kill X then restart X Any solutions ?
EDIT : see pic here Try with Beryl stopped of course

If GLX is involved, I think that your video drivers are not installed. Or maybe you're using Beryl at the same time ?

I haven't retried so far since a month or so ... So is Eve now playable with Wine or do we still need Cedega ?

Is this method working fine with a Gentoo based on a x64 kernel ?

Edited by: Pardot Kynes on 18/03/2007 10:47:15 Sevarus, I really wonder how you manage to have so much FPS :/ I got nearly the same computer as you (AMD 64 3800+X2, 2Gb RAM, 7900GT), and I barely run a fullscreen client in 1680x1050 with Cedega. I got 70FPS in station, and 15 undocked.
I tried the taskset, no difference. Have you any ideas to improve my FPS ?

No, I haven't mess at all with the NVIDIA settings, will give it a try.
I will test with latest Wine, maybe I will get more FPS.

I've also tried to disable the powernowd, but no framerate evolution.
Still 60-70 FPs in station, and a crap 10-15 FPS in space :(
My NVIDIA settings is set to performance, and I will give a try in messing up with Wine registry keys to improve the FPS.

Just curious, but do you have anti aliasing stuff turned on via the nvidia tool? 60-70fps in station is normal. the 10-15 outside is not. (with the hardware you indicated.)------------unless of course you are in jita. then it would be COMPLETELY normal due to the high traffic and tons of crap in that system. My tests are in low sec or in starter systems where the numbers aren't quite as high. powernowd shouldn't really be an issue any longer btw, but I do just so it doesn't throttle back accidentally as it used to. (it shouldn't really affect frame rate.)
Errr .... Will have a look asap, don't remember. I'm not in Jita, but in Luminaire I think ... I will try with a other character in low status, to see if the FPS are better. So an other question : if I run a mission in a deadspace, will the FPS improve, or will they still be low because of the surrounding of the system ?
